Players and assistant coaches hanging on the Head coaches’ every word. Teenage boys on the cusp of becoming men, leaving their school days behind and moving on to a new chapter in their lives. The sport that brought them all together is likely about to end after the season and they share one more game together as a team. The bond they share is evident in their reaction to the coaches’ words and prayer - this is what sport does, this is the power it has. I would guess that some of them will even have their own families and children now and whatever each of them are doing today I would imagine they often think back to these times and this day and look on it with pride and happiness. The coach seems like an amazing man, his players would have left everything out on the field for him and his team, god bless them all.

That’s a cool video but greatest? Nah, cool I like the message but the rah rah last until the kickoff and you get hit. The hand is win the previous December-August. Then the Saturday before when the game plan and execution begins. Hell I normally go to sleep during down time. Yes, it’s an emotionally game and intense. You should always be coaching but have time, the kids read your body language.

Nah, that's kinda garbage. Coaches going to Bible verses is like an immediate disqualification for cliche speech BS. Not because it's a bible verse or story but because it's played out...and especially the story of David. This is like a D- speech, tbh. My HS HC had about a dozen better than this. This is Pregame Speech 101 stuff. Kirby Smart before the 2021 NCG, IIRC. Terrific. Harbaugh before the 2023 NCG gave a powerful Shakespeare-laden speech. Mike Barwis, the WVU S&C coach at the time, before a big game I can't recall talking about cracking skills will give you chills. Etc.
